The program helps prepare students to work effectively in the business world. Gaining hands-on work experience also helps students make career choices, which will result in higher job satisfaction and higher productivity.
Our program is structured, and the assignments provide learning objectives that give students the opportunity to gain practical work in their chosen career field. To identify strengths and weaknesses, constructive feedback is given to students during performance evaluations.
Comfort Inn & Conference Center & Quality Inn, St Louis, Internship Program rotates students though all the departments of the hotel: Front Desk, Night Audit, Breakfast, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance.
Students learn management and Sales and Marketing.
Requires bright and energetic students pursuing a Degree in a hospitality field.
Requires good communication skills to relate to guests and team members.
Requires the ability to give attention to detail.
Requires the ability to provide own housing and transportation.
Daily Expenses will be paid and a Certificate of Achievement will be awarded from the Management Company

FRONT DESK CLERK, HOUSEKEEPING, Night Auditor, BREAKFAST ATTENDANT & LAUNDRY.
FRONT DESK CLERK (GUEST SERVICE AGENT) Full Time & Part Time
Basic Function-
Under immediate supervision, assists our guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Front Desk related functions. To maintain a high standard of service and hospitality at all times.
General Knowledge, Skill and Ability-
Requires ability to take written and verbal direction. Requires ability to relate to the public in a warm, friendly manner in providing a hospitable environment. Requires ability to give attention to detail and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently. Requires thorough knowledge of Comfort Inn & Conference Center & Quality Inn policies and procedures, for guest services. Requires ability to handle money, make change and utilize office machines in the normal day-to-day activities.
HOUSEKEEPING (Full Time & Part Time)
Basic Function-
Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of housekeeping services to maintain clean and sanitary guest rooms according to established standards. May perform laundry functions. Visually inspects rooms to assist in identifying maintenance items needed. Assists guests whenever possible by providing linens, terry or providing information as requested.
General Knowledge, Skill and Ability-
Requires ability to follow verbal directions. Requires thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures as well as cleaning supplies. Requires ability to work without direct supervision.
LAUNDRY (Full Time & Part Time)
Basic Function-
Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of laundry services to provide clean and sanitary linens and terry for our guests. Visually inspects linens and terry for wear and tear and stains.
General Knowledge, Skill and Ability-
Requires ability to follow verbal directions. Requires thorough knowledge of laundry procedures as well as laundry supplies. Requires ability to work without direct supervision.
BREAKFAST ATTENDANT (Full Time & Part Time)
Basic Function-
Under general supervision, prepares the Comfort Inn & Conference Center & Quality Inn Breakfast for guests following Company policies and procedures. Maintains the breakfast / lobby area in a clean and neat manner, and assists guests with breakfast service (i.e., serving coffee, clearing trays, etc.) Greets guests, and answers questions to maintain high levels of service.
General Knowledge, Skill and Ability-
Requires ability to take written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly. Requires ability to communicate in a friendly manner with guests in order to create a warm, comfortable, relaxing environment. Requires knowledge of hotel accommodations, the community and breakfast hours. Requires ability to conduct accurate inventory of food items and calculate order levels.
